Terms & Conditions
Course Booking Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 5th Aug 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all courses booked with Studio GBG. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. About Studio GBG
Studio GBG is the dedicated nail education brand operated by Grace W-Holland a sole trader also trading as Gels by Gracie.
Studio GBG is based at Gatcombe House, Copnor Road, Hilsea, Portsmouth, PO3 5EJ.
Email: hello@studiogbg.info.
Throughout these terms, “Studio GBG”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Studio GBG. “You” and “student” refer to the person booking or attending the course.
2. Course bookings
Your place is not confirmed until the required deposit or full course fee has been received and you have received confirmation from Studio GBG.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the course is suitable for your experience level and that all information supplied when booking is accurate.
Places are limited and are reserved specifically for each student.
3. Deposits
Any deposit stated at the time of booking is a reservation payment used to secure your place.
Once any applicable statutory cooling-off period has ended, the deposit is non-refundable if you cancel or fail to attend. This is because Studio GBG has reserved a limited course place and may have incurred administrative, preparation and material costs.
Deposits will be refunded if Studio GBG cancels the course and you do not accept an alternative course date.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
4. Course fees and payment deadlines
The remaining course balance must be paid in full no later than 14 calendar days before the course date.
Where a booking is made fewer than 14 days before the course, the full course fee must be paid at the time of booking.
If payment is not received by the deadline, Studio GBG may treat the booking as cancelled and offer the place to another student. Any deposit already paid will remain non-refundable, subject to your statutory rights.
5. Your right to cancel an online booking
If you book online, by telephone or through another distance-selling method, you may have a statutory right to cancel the booking within 14 days of entering into the contract.
Where this right applies, you may cancel during that period by sending a clear written request to hello@studiogbg.info
If you ask Studio GBG to provide the course within your 14-day cancellation period, you expressly request that the service begins during that period. Once the course has been fully delivered, you may lose your statutory right to cancel. If the service has only been partly delivered, Studio GBG may charge a reasonable amount for the service already supplied.
6. Cancellations by students
Once any applicable statutory cooling-off period has ended, the following cancellation policy applies:
If you cancel more than 14 days before the course, your deposit will be retained, but any additional course fees paid will be refunded.
If you cancel within 14 days of the course, fail to attend or arrive too late to complete the training, the full course fee will normally be non-refundable because Studio GBG may be unable to fill the reserved place and may already have prepared materials for you.
Any amount retained will be limited to Studio GBG’s reasonable net losses arising from the cancellation. If Studio GBG is able to fill your place or avoid particular costs, this will be taken into account when calculating any refund due.
Refunds will not be provided simply because a student changes their mind, no longer wishes to attend or cannot attend due to personal circumstances, except where required by law.
Studio GBG strongly recommends obtaining suitable insurance if illness, travel disruption or other circumstances could prevent attendance.
7. Transferring your booking
Requests to move a booking to another course date must be made in writing as early as possible.
Transfers are not guaranteed and remain subject to availability and Studio GBG’s agreement. Studio GBG may refuse a transfer where insufficient notice has been given or costs have already been incurred.
A booking may not be transferred to another person without prior written approval from Studio GBG.
8. Late arrival and attendance
Students must arrive at the time stated in their booking confirmation.
Late arrival may prevent you from completing essential training or assessments. Where it would be unsafe or impractical to continue, Studio GBG may refuse admission or require the course to be rebooked. No refund will normally be provided in these circumstances.
Full attendance and satisfactory completion of any required practical work or assessment may be required before a certificate is issued.
9. Cancellations or changes by Studio GBG
Studio GBG may occasionally need to change a course date, tutor, venue or course content due to illness, emergencies, insufficient attendance or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where Studio GBG cancels a course, you will be offered either:
a transfer to an alternative available date; or
a refund of the course fees paid.
Studio GBG recommends that students do not make non-refundable travel or accommodation arrangements. We will not normally reimburse associated expenses, except where required by law.
10. Course content and results
Studio GBG will provide the course with reasonable care and skill.
Course descriptions are provided as accurately as possible. However, completing a course does not guarantee employment, business success, a particular income or any specific commercial result.
Students are responsible for checking whether any qualification or certificate meets the requirements of their insurer, employer, local authority or professional organisation before booking.
11. Health, safety and conduct
Students must follow all reasonable health, safety, hygiene and tutor instructions while attending Studio GBG.
You must tell Studio GBG before the course about any allergy, medical condition, disability, pregnancy, sensitivity or other circumstance that could affect your safe participation.
Studio GBG may refuse admission or remove a student whose behaviour is unsafe, abusive, disruptive or inappropriate. No refund will normally be provided where removal results from the student’s conduct.
12. Course materials and intellectual property
All manuals, workbooks, photographs, videos, presentations, designs and other course materials remain the intellectual property of Studio GBG or their respective owner.
Course materials are supplied for the student’s personal learning and business reference only. They must not be copied, resold, uploaded, shared, taught from or distributed without prior written permission.
Recording the course or other students without permission is not permitted.
13. Personal belongings
Students remain responsible for their personal belongings while attending a course.
Studio GBG is not responsible for loss or damage unless caused by our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.
14. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer legislation.
15. Personal information
Personal information supplied when booking will be processed in accordance with Studio GBG’s Privacy Policy.
16. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of the booking process or course, please contact hello@studiogbg.info.
as soon as possible so that Studio GBG has a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable under UK consumer law.
18. Acceptance
By making a booking and paying a deposit or course fee, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
